well the media intends to appeal only to men and so it shows all women as being really thin, young, and hardly wearing anything. For real women, these images are insulting

the media shows women as desperate weepy emotional wrecks and life imitates art because if these types of images are the only ones young girls see they know no other reality and think this is what it means to be normal so these are the behaviors they emulate

“Newdreams” couldn’t be more wrong. There are plenty of advertisements that are geared toward women. Heck, advertisers make special efforts to target female markets when running commercials. Commercials are almost ALL marketed toward women because women make most of the household purchasing decisions. She doesn’t know what she is talking about.

How did the liberal media cause the mishandling of Iraq and Katrina?
I see on here all the time that the liberal media is responsible for the perception of George Bush, but all the people I talk to, Democrat or Republican, say they lost faith in him after the way he mishandled the Iraq War and the response to Katrina…Just curious as to how the liberal media caused this to happen?

Katrina was bungled by local officials first and foremost, bungled by residents next, and by the federal government last.
Local officials waited for federal money before they would act.
Local residents were warned to leave well before the storm.
FEMA pissed down their leg when crunch time came.
As far as Iraq goes, Bush muffed the thing along with Rumsfeld.
They made things better with Gates and Petreus.
The media in both cases showed only the worst case scenarios. There were a lot of good things going on in Iraq but only FOX showed them.
